In our unyielding commitment to catalyze change through the Girl Power Project®, PankhRise Foundation took determined strides to ensure our efforts are both targeted and transformative. Recognizing that understanding the local context is paramount, we embarked on a journey that led us to numerous schools across Meerut. These visits transcended routine assessments; they evolved into insightful dialogues with school principals and management, laying the groundwork for a harmonious partnership.
Through these exchanges, we delved into the intricacies of the challenges faced by girls within the community. From academic barriers to societal expectations, each conversation unveiled a unique perspective, adding to the richness of our understanding. It was these discussions that not only painted a vivid picture of the girls’ journey but also ignited a collective determination to address their needs comprehensively. With insights gleaned from these interactions, PankhRise Foundation moved decisively to complete a comprehensive baseline survey in April. This survey, a meticulous endeavor, aimed to capture the essence of the girls’ circumstances, aspirations, and barriers. It paved the way for data-driven decision-making, enabling us to tailor the Girl Power Project® to the specific needs of the girls in Meerut. Now, with all the things we’ve learned from school visits and the survey, we’re ready to make a real change. The path ahead is illuminated by collaboration, empathy, and a resolute commitment to empower girls and foster gender equality. Our work in Meerut shows that we believe in change and that it starts when we listen, learn, and do what’s best for each community we help.
